At just 3.3 lbs per plate, they provide rifle-rated protection at roughly half the weight of steel and ceramic armor, making them ideal for extended wear, dynamic movement, and high-mobility applications.UHMWPE plates inherently do not suffer from spalling or fragmentation like steel armor. When struck by a high-velocity projectile, the hardened polyethylene layers capture the bullet as the material partially melts and dissipates energy, stopping the round within the plate itself. The result is effective multi-hit protection without secondary fragmentation hazards.These plates feature a multi-curve ergonomic design for superior comfort and mobility, are neutrally buoyant (will neither sink nor rise in water), and are notably thinner than many competitors at just 1" thick.
