At just 3.3 lbs per plate, they provide rifle-rated protection at roughly half the weight of steel and ceramic alternatives, making them ideal for extended wear, dynamic movement, and high-mobility applications.UHMWPE armor does not suffer from spalling or fragmentation like steel plates. When impacted by a high-velocity projectile, the layered polyethylene structure captures the bullet as the material partially melts and dissipates energy, stopping the round within the plate itself. This results in effective multi-hit protection without secondary fragmentation hazards.These plates feature a multi-curve ergonomic design for superior comfort and freedom of movement, are neutrally buoyant (will neither sink nor rise in water), and are notably thin at just 1" thick.
