Scheels Outfitters Blue Wing Olive

The Blue Wing Olive is a species of mayfly that you will certainly run into most days fishing in the spring and summer. One of the most fun parts of fly fishing is identifying the insects in the area. You can catch these bugs in your hat by ruffling river grass or finding them stuck in spider webs. Often times you will see a fly with a green body and vertical wings - these are imitated by Blue Wing Olives. When this happens, tie on this BWO pattern and focus on creating a dead drift. Oftentimes, you will start to get bites and when you land a fish with this method, the satisfaction is unmatched. This 10-Pack includes flies tied in the most effective hook sizes (#12, 14, 16) for this pattern, providing top performance on the water.
